In the second semester of 2017, the film workshop "A look between calculation and chance" was held. The directors, Luis Ospina (COL), Victor Gaviria (COL) and José Luis Guerín (ESP), one of the great exponents of contemporary documentary cinema, were in charge of the workshop. The workshop was born from the relationship between several of the works of these three directors, where the categories of documentary and fiction films are blurred, opening a scenario on which to dialogue and reflect, calculation (as in fiction films) and chance (as in documentary films). The workshop then, proposed to the attendees to work on a project regardless of its stage of development.
With a total duration of six weeks, it was divided into two stages. The first, lasting two weeks, consisted of a series of masterclasses in which the three directors accompanied screenings of their work followed by a discussion with the attendees. In the second, José Luis Guerín gave personalized advice to the attendees about their projects in a collaborative space. José Luis Guerín also attended screenings of his films at Cine Tonalá and the Cinemateca Distrital, where he also gave free talks as a complement to the workshop.
